If anyone is in Christ they are a new creation;
old things are passing away; all things are becoming new. 2 Corinthians
5:17
The single greatest way the old things pass away and new things are created in your heart is through the Word of God. If you are being transformed, it is because you are living and abiding in the Word of God. If you are stuck in a stronghold or a sin, you need to spend more time in the Word. If you've been struggling for a long time with something or someone, and you're not seeing any progress, you need to spend more time in the Word. The most beautiful part of His Word is that it is living and active, carefully designed by the creator of the universe to be exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. I love the way Hebrews 4:12 describes it: “The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” How many times have you listened to a message or a teaching in small group and thought to yourself, that message was crafted specifically for me? How many times has He drawn you to a verse that has brought you more comfort than any words from a friend? The most amazing part for me is that at one point in my life I can be in a passage and it will teach me one thing, then at another point in my life, it will teach me something completely different.

I am so thankful for His Word and the comfort it
bring in these challenging days. My head is spinning at the way things are
unfolding - it caught me off guard to discover the cancer has moved to the
other breast yesterday. While my world may be chaotic right now, my heart is so
comforted by the fact that His Word is my rock, my comforter, and my strength.
