Medical Update ~ 11/01/17

There really isn't too much to update you all on this week - relatively speaking, I feel great.  Seriously, by comparison, I had only minor fatigue this weekend, but didn't even experience my typical crash on Sunday.  I was definitely tired on Saturday and Sunday, but I was signficantly less symptomatic than the last several weeks.  It's been delightful!  I've been running again, even making it a full 2 miles today for the first time since my surgery.  Yesterday, I was able to enjoy Halloween with the grandbabies, then fellowship with my small group.  Today, after my run, I cleaned my house and actually went shopping for winter clothes for the grands, then picked up a late lunch and enjoyed it at my son's house.  It's been awesome to feel so normal!  Somebody out there deserves a huge thank you for lifting me up in prayer because I really shouldn't be feeling as well as I do, but God is good, my friends.  No other explanation.

Tomorrow is round 5 - almost halfway to the end of Taxol!  My white blood cells improved last week - only marginally, but they remain in the low normal range (praise God!).  My red blood cells dropped below the normal range again, but other than that, everything went well.  As I mentioned last week, they've elminated the steroids I take at home, and at my last treatment, they cut the Benedryl in half (woo hoo!!)  It was a beautiful thing to be able to sit peacefully in the chair last Thursday!  Both of those adjustments have significantly improved the way I feel Wednesday through Friday.  Praise God for no allergic reaction to the Taxol!

My days still start pretty slow.  I sleep far more than I ever have, and it literally takes me a couple of hours to get going in the morning.  Chemo brain remains a real thing, my hair continues to fall out, and there are days I look so pale that my sons even comment on it.  I have a fairly consistent headache, sometimes so significant that it wakes me out of a sound sleep, but I am really doing well thanks to all of your prayers.  So many of you continue to check in on me, concerned about how I'm managing - I'm feeling great and remaining positive.  Overall, I'm happy and feeling quite blessed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your continued support!!  Your sweet notes, pictures, and texts of encouragement continue to provide such a source of strength to me - every single one of them is treasured.  The way so many of you continue to serve my family with food and gifts is such a testimony to all that is good in this world.  Love you all!!  I am especially grateful for all of you who have been diligently praying for me and my family through this - please know those prayers are being heard.  God has been so good to me.

Please continue to pray for healing, for my WBC and RBC to stay strong, continued manageable symptoms, and that I remain healthy - one of my grandbabies is sick again and I was just with her. Please also pray we find a way to change the caregiver's chairs in the chemo room - we're working with a contact, and will hopefully start a fundraiser soon.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!

Press on ~ you are loved 💗
