10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. - Ephesians 6:10-11

When things are going well in our lives, when we’re feeling strong, the reality is we just don’t spend as much time with Him. We spend far greater time with Him when we’re walking through a valley because it it’s in these moments that we recognize our weakness and His great strength.

Putting on the whole armor of God means making Him a priority every day,  not just when we need Him. We live in a world full of distractions - daily we fight the urge to allow things to our priority list, pushing Him off. Just for today, I’ll hit the snooze, just this once, I’ll take care of....I’ll get back to my devotion later today. In our arrogance, we think we can handle it. After all, things have been going quite well lately.

God wants to knock that arrogance and apathy right out of us, and so He will allow circumstances into our lives that draw us back to the reality that we need His strength daily. He is glorified when we are on our knees asking for His strength, His wisdom, His mercy and His grace.

Make Him a priority. Every single day. That’s how we stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Press on ~ you are loved 💗
