Journal Entry ~ 02/18/18

17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up." - Daniel 3:17-18

The confident faith expressed in these verses is beautiful - we would do well to commit them to memory to pull out any time we face a fiery trial. Our God is able. He can deliver us from the trial in front of us without hesitation. Whatever you face, you can trust that He can rescue from the struggle. He can pull you out of addiction, bring home a prodigal child, heal a marriage, save a life. What may seem impossible to you, is nothing for Him. He can turn any situation around on a dime. Live your life believing that truth. I love the way these three spoke confidently to the king - without hesitation, they looking into an impossible situation and said God is able to rescue them.  Speak this truth confidently to those around you, and watch the hand of God mightily display His glory for all to see.

I’ve lived this truth out loud multiple times in my life, and I’ve been blown away by how He has shown up. To watch God turn the impossible into the possible in ways I could never imagine is truly beautiful. Speaking the truth out loud to others with confidence is a critical component - it’s not only how we demonstrate our faith, but it is also how we build our faith.

As we learn in Hebrews ~ Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:1,6. Pastor James defines faith as believing the Word of God and acting on it no matter how I feel because God promises a good result. Faith is essential to the Christian life - it ignores how we feel and boldly acts upon the Word of God.  When we have faith, we not only believe His Words are true, but we act and we speak as if they have already come true.

God loves to show up when we speak His truths out loud. Scripture is full of stories of our God showing up in the most unlikely situations because of the faith demonstrated out loud. Rack, Shack, and Benny is just one of them, but their faith is beautiful. They boldly acted upon the Word of God regardless of the fear they must have felt as they looked into the fiery furnace. Look into the impossible situation in your life, and speak your faith boldly out loud for those in your life to hear. God is able.
