Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. - 1 Peter 4:19

We are reminded in this verse when we suffer, we are to trust in our Father. If we’re going to trust our God, then we need to have confidence that He is faithful.

Our God is faithful. He has shown up in my life in so many ways that I cannot possibly deny Him. My story is a story of God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises over and over again. When the road seemed impossible, He showed up to clear the path. When I have faced unspeakable injustices, He has shown up with the truth. When I have needed wisdom, He has shown me the way. When my heart is filled with grief, He has wrapped His arms around me in comfort. He doesn’t always show up in the way I ask Him to or at the time I would like Him to, but He never fails to show up and fulfill His promise to work all things out for good. Even when it doesn’t make sense, He has shown me His ways are better than my own, His plan is always for my good.

The God who created the universe has made us some promises and He cannot lie.  We can count on His promises to be true, we can know that He will show up faithful to fulfill His Word because it’s impossible for Him to lie. God is faithful. One of the most valuable studies I have ever completed was of the promises God has made to me. Once I began to understand that He cannot break a promise, I scoured Scripture for the promises He has made. I was blown away. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us, He promises to fight for us, He promises to give us strength, comfort, peace, He promises to forgive us, He promises to redeem us, He promises to work all things out for our good.

Whatever it is you’re waiting for God to show up and do in your life - bring a prodigal child home, provide a need for your family, free you from a sin issue, these verses remind us He is faithful to fulfill His promises to us.

So much of our lives are spent in fear of what may happen or how we will go on in the face of our greatest fear happening. We can trust Him with our deepest fears. He’s got this.

Imagine for a moment how our fear impacts the Lord. As a parent, how would you feel if you overheard a conversation between your children where they were discussing whether or not you you were going to provide for them. Perhaps you would be angry, perhaps you would be heartbroken, but you would not be filled with joy. God hears our fears.

We should live with an attitude of complete confidence. No matter what we face, we can trust that God has got this because He is faithful to fulfill His promises.

Press on, you are loved 💗
