Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. - 1 Peter 4:19
When you really embrace the massive, unshakable promises in scripture, when you entrust your soul to a faithful Creator and continue to do good, your life takes on a whole new stability. People who live by these truths are the freest, strongest, and most generous people in the world. They don't fear what is coming, they live by grace in the moment, trusting in His plan and in His future grace. They don't get tossed in the waves of emotion when a crisis hits, or when that difficult person walks into the room. They aren't tripped up by the challenging moments because they know and trust that God is sovereign over everything that is happening in their lives. They lean in to their trials rather than avoid the conflict because their deepest desire is to grow more like Christ, and they know He refines us most in those difficult moments.
When your heart trusts in these promises, there comes into your life a stability and depth and freedom, and you simply can’t be blown over anymore. The confidence that a sovereign God governs for your good all the pain and all the pleasure that you will ever experience is an incomparable refuge and security and hope and power in your life.
And when He grabs a hold of your life with this truth, His light shines through you to the people in your life in a way that's undeniable. If you want to have that kind of impact, if you want to be the kind of person who brings glory to God with your life, then it starts here. You need to believe this truth in your core. Everything He allows in your life is for your good, to conform you to the image of Christ - every difficult person, every devastating loss, every heartache, every diagnosis, every phone call, every single thing.
